RetroSoft Studios announced today that RetroMania Wrestling will make its way to Xbox One. The game is currently scheduled for a release during the first quarter of 2020.
RetroMania Wrestling is a spiritual successor to 1991’s WWF Wrestlefest. The game is a fast paced wrestling game with 2D sprites and colorful backgrounds and will serve as a fresh alternative to the cookie-cutter games that we get on a yearly basis. RetroMania Wrestling will feature up to 8 player local multiplayer. Content wise, the game will include 12-16 superstars at launch and a handful of matches: one-on-one, tag team and Battle Royal. RetroMania Wrestling will also include a story mode, although details are scarce except we know that it’s currently being written by Salvatore Pane.
RetroMania Wrestling will also feature a unique roster of old and new familiar faces known to fans across the world. Here’s a list of the current roster; with more to be announced:
- Road Warriors
- Tommy Dreamer
- Austin Idol
- Colt Cabana
- Zack Sabre Jr.
- The Blue World Order
RetroSoft Studios also mentionned that each superstar will have their own ring entrances and multiple outfit to play dress up with. Expect the developer to reveal additional information as we near the 2020 release timetable.
