Assassin’s Creed Mirage

Assassin’s Creed Mirage, a more compact and narrative-focused game than recent instalments in the franchise, introduces players to a 17-year-old Basim (now voiced by Lee Majdoub) who is coping with nightmares and leading a crafty street thief’s life. Fortunately for Basim, the Hidden Ones recognise his promise and assist him in fleeing Baghdad for the Hidden Ones’ fortress of Alamut. One of these Hidden Ones is his mentor Roshan, who is voiced by Shohreh Aghdashloo. He will hone his special abilities, uncover his true nature, and come to grasp a new Creed as he learns their enigmatic rites and potent principles. This Creed, which will transform his fate in ways he never could have imagined, will help him understand his true nature.

As players join the proto-Assassin order known as the Hidden Ones and advance to become a master assassin, Mirage, a game built as an homage to the earliest Assassin’s Creed titles, pays respect to the series’ origins. The bustling metropolis of Baghdad in the ninth century makes for the ideal dense, urban hunting environment as Basim uses the most instruments in the series’ history to stalk his target. At this time in history, they haven’t yet taken on the moniker of “Assassins,” but there’s no denying that the Hidden Ones are a strong and established order with resources and the crucial Creed to guide them. Basim will be able to collect contracts and upgrades from a network of Hidden One bureaus located around Baghdad as he travels the city. He will also be able to gather information on his targets and eliminate them with quick murders.

The ability to climb is an assassin’s greatest asset, so as the series moves back into a large-scale urban setting, Basim will have to leap across rooftops, climb tall structures, and evade security by parkouring around Baghdad’s four separate districts. When sleuthing for clues fails to yield the information needed, Basim can use his eagle Enkidu to survey the area and mark opponents for covert elimination.
