Team17 and Wych Elm have announced that atmospheric survival-horror game Silver Pines will launch on PC and consoles this October, with a playable demo available now on Steam.
Publisher Team17 and developer Wych Elm have revealed that Silver Pines, the Swedish studio’s debut survival-horror title, will launch on October 8th, 2026 for PC and consoles.
The announcement was made during the Horror Game Awards’ Midsummer Night’s Scream showcase and was accompanied by the release of a new trailer confirming the launch date. Players eager to experience the game’s unsettling atmosphere ahead of release can also download a demo on Steam starting today.
Silver Pines follows private investigator Red Walker, who arrives in the seemingly deserted American town of Silver Pines. Shortly after his arrival, a mysterious phone call directs him to find a man named Eddie Velvet, setting Walker on a journey into a town filled with disturbing secrets and supernatural horrors.
Blending classic survival-horror mechanics with exploration-focused gameplay, Silver Pines challenges players to solve puzzles, manage limited resources, and uncover the truth behind the town’s strange disappearance. The game presents its world from a distinctive 2.5D perspective while incorporating sprawling environments filled with locked doors, hidden routes, and cryptic clues.
According to Wych Elm, exploration plays a major role in the experience, with interconnected areas designed in a style reminiscent of Metroidvania games. Players will need to carefully search for resources, manage scarce inventory space, and decide when to fight or avoid the creatures lurking in the darkness.
The game also features hand-painted visuals and rotoscoped animations, combined with a neo-noir-inspired art direction intended to create a dreamlike and unsettling atmosphere. Along the way, players will encounter a cast of suspicious townsfolk, each with their own role in the mystery surrounding Silver Pines.
Silver Pines will launch on Xbox Series X|S on October 8, 2026. The demo is available now via Steam for players looking to sample the game’s eerie atmosphere ahead of release.
