Publisher Acclaim and Brazilian indie studio Potato Kid today announced that Talaka, the fast-paced, combat driven roguelite that brings Afro-Brazilian mythology to life, will take part in Steam Next Fest: October Edition, which will run from October 19 through October 26.
Those craving a taste of adventure steeped in legend don’t have to wait for the festival to begin. The Talaka demo is available to play on Steam right now. In it, players can experience the game’s first world, face off against mythical monsters, wield a diverse arsenal of weapons, master mystical abilities, and go toe-to-toe with a fearsome boss ahead of Talaka’s launch on Steam and consoles in early 2027.
“It’s been incredible seeing players from around the globe respond so positively to the TALAKA demo. We love how much people are connecting with its world, unique character design and the Afro-Brazilian culture & mythos behind it. Steam Next Fest, this October, is a great chance to jump in and feel the artistry of this story before the full adventure hits platforms soon.” – Marc Anthony Rodriguez, Director of Publishing & Strategic Partnerships, Acclaim, Inc.
To mark the occasion, Acclaim and Potato Kid have released updated demo patches and a batch of new screenshots offering a closer look at Talaka’s vibrant, watercolored world. These new images showcase new settings players will explore, the imaginative creatures drawn from Afro-Brazilian myth that they’ll encounter on their journey, along with the weapons and mystical abilities they’ll wield to restore balance to a world that is forgetting its legends.
