The first wave of fighters is Team 1 (Team GAROU) and will be released in March, while the second wave Team 2 (Team SOUTH TOWN) will be released in May. Team 3 follows in the summer and Finally Team 4 in the autumn. Each team consists of three fighters, so the total number of fighters in THE KING OF FIGHTERS XV increases from an initial 39 to a whopping 51 powerful characters over the course of the year.

Team 1 (Team GAROU) starts in March 2022 and consists of ROCK HOWARD, B. JENET and GATO from the smash hit GAROU: MARK OF THE WOLVES.

ROCK HOWARD
Although he is the son of the dreaded Geese Howard, this young fighter with a complicated past was raised by Terry Bogard. Rock is a true prodigy when it comes to fighting and has learned to use the fighting styles handed down from his father and stepfather. B. JENET persuades him to join Team GAROU in this KOF.

GATO
This ice-cold and calculated master fighter always stands out from the crowd. After his mother died at the hands of his father, he went out to take revenge. Although he wants to go his own way, B. JENET was able to convince him to join the team because she has information about his father’s whereabouts.

B. JENET
B. JENET is the leader of a pirate gang known as the “Lillien Knights” and has traveled to every corner of the world. As the daughter of the Behrn family, an influential international cartel, she grew tired of her luxurious but boring life and ran away to found the “Lillien Knights”. After the turbulent events in the last KOF, B. JENET suspects that the worst is not over yet and she wants to join this KOF to see what lies ahead.

Team 2 (Team SOUTH TOWN) will launch in May 2022 and feature characters GEESE HOWARD, BILLY KANE and RYUJI YAMAZAKI from the world-famous FATAL FURY series.

Team 3 for THE KING OF FIGHTERS XV will be released in the summer, while Team 4 will be released in the fall of 2022. The characters of these teams will be revealed in the near future.
