IO Interactive, the award-winning independent studio behind the HITMAN franchise, in partnership with Amazon MGM Studios, today announced the worldwide launch of 007 First Light — a bold reimagining of James Bond’s origins and one of 2026’s most anticipated video game releases.
Now available on PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, Amazon.com, Steam, and the Epic Games Store, 007 First Light has already earned widespread critical acclaim, debuting with an 88 OpenCritic score and an 88 Metacritic rating.
Players are invited to step into the role of a young James Bond in an all-new original story that explores his rise from gifted but reckless Royal Navy air crewman to elite MI6 operative. Set within the newly resurrected 00 Programme, the game offers the first-ever interactive Bond origin story, charting the formative moments that shape the world’s most iconic spy.

In 007 First Light, players experience Bond at 26 years old — ambitious, instinctive, and unpolished. Recruited into MI6’s rigorous training program, Bond must rely on intelligence, charm, and raw determination as he navigates a world of high-stakes covert operations.

Built using IO Interactive’s proprietary Glacier engine and enhanced through collaboration with NVIDIA, 007 First Light sets a new benchmark for cinematic visual fidelity.
The game launches with support for DLSS 4.5 Dynamic Multi Frame Generation on GeForce RTX PCs and laptops, maximizing performance and responsiveness. Path Tracing and DLSS Ray Reconstruction support are scheduled to arrive later this summer.
