Publisher HypeTrain Digital and developer Truck World Studio have officially released their highly anticipated simulation title, Truck World: Australia onto Early Access today on Xbox.
Priced at $29.99 / £24.24 / €29.99 / AU$44.95, Truck World: Australia arrives following massive community interest. The game’s standalone demo, Truck World: Australia – First Haul, recently surpassed 1.2 million downloads on the Xbox Store, holding the No. 1 spot on its demo charts for six consecutive months.
Unlike traditional driving simulators, Truck World: Australia challenges players to immerse themselves in the full working life of a long-haul trucker. Rather than staying confined to the driver’s cab, players must step out into the elements to handle manual labour tasks including:
- Hitching trailers and connecting air/hydraulic hoses
- Refueling and performing hands-on mechanical servicing
- Managing multiple deliveries by consolidating orders to maximise profit per run
Featuring modern graphics and realistic driving mechanics, the game tasks players with navigating left-hand traffic, coastal highways, and rugged dirt roads shaped by Australia’s distinctive climate.
The Early Access version puts drivers on the roads of a region inspired by South Australia’s Eyre Peninsula. The developers selected the location for its mix of coastal ports, regional farming communities, and local industries, offering balanced distances that allow players to hone their skills before tackling vast outback routes.
Road trains: Coming in a Future Update
Road trains – massive trucks pulling multiple trailers – are an iconic sight in the Australian outback and one of the features that first drew players to Truck World: Australia. One of the game’s earliest videos showcased a road train and attracted significant attention. Drivable road trains are planned for a future update and are not included in the initial Early Access release.
