Radon Break is another clone of the Breakout game where the simple goal is to break bricks with a bouncing ball. Think one way Pong. Unlike most Breakout clone, which usually plays vertically, this one is played horizontally where the paddle is on the left and the bricks on the right.

As you break bricks, you’ll notice shapes floating slowly toward the paddle. These are perks that can be used to either make things easier or harder. Some power-ups include speed up or down, blockers that will block balls from going past the paddle, bonus points, and making your paddle sticky; just to name a few. It’s a few nice novelties for some gameplay challenges.

There’s nothing inherently wrong here except that it’s another freaking clone of an existing game; a game that was first released in 1976. With such simple gameplay, it seems too difficult to improve it or diversify it. No replay value unless you’re adamant about beating your score. Also no gameplay variety.

On the presentation side of things, there’s nothing outstanding here. The game has a dark background so the rest of the game stands out thanks to its colorful aspects. Sure, the issue is that trying to follow multiple balls can be dizzying, but still doable. The soundtrack is droning poor man’s version of a similar-sounding synthwave score. Nothing to write home about.

Alrighty. Nothing to see here. Sure the price is “right”, but why play a cheap clone when you can play one of the many versions of the Breakout game currently available on Xbox Marketplace, including one with an actual story and boss battles! It’s fun, but nothing new here. Pass
