Tetsumo Party released by the gaming studio named Monster Couch, with an ethos to produce games that bring people together for a damn right good time. It’s time to don your sumo suit and compete in a hilarious hole in the wall style game. Help the Sumo warriors get into position by controlling their arms and legs in order to fit through the incoming bamboo wall, fail and you drop out of the running in the most ridiculous way!

Tetsumo Party is inspired by Japanese TV shows and culture, sumo warriors gather to join an unconventional contest. In order to succeed, these super-sized warriors have to make themselves small and show agility by assuming some awkward poses, all so they can fit through an ever faster approaching wall with a funny cut out shape.

The game can be played as a single player, but where’s the fun in that? Tetsumo Party works best when your with a group of friends, and to extend the party this game can be played with up to 4 controllers and theoretically eight people all at the same time, with two people sharing the controllers, taking charge of the upper and lower limbs separately, how cool is that?

After all Fighting and competing with friends is usually what makes a party title!

Whilst controlling the limbs of those lovable sumo characters of which there are several to choose from in appearance, there will be little distractions along the way, such as a waiter bringing you food and refreshments during the contest.

Why not reach out and grab that Green tea for an immune boast, allowing you to miss the wall for a few seconds, or grab the alarm clock to stop the wall in its tracks for that vital second as you get your character into position.

The other item on offer to reach out for is Sushi. What summon wrestler doesn’t like Sushi?

Sushi is the games currency and the way to unlock fun new characters to play with. Each different character has their own set of challenges to meet. Succeed in these different challenges and you’ll start to see achievement’s popping up, rising your Gamerscore in the process.

Tetsumo Party’s game design is simple yet very effective, offering several background changes which tie into Japanese culture whilst also playing a part in the challenges for the different characters. The controls used in Tetsumo Party are effortlessly easy to use, making it perfect for gamers of all ages to take part in.

The game features local multiplayer, with face off head to head split-screen and Co-Op play. Co-Op play is where the game comes into its own, offering simultaneous action as you share your sumo wrestler with someone else. You will be in stiches I promise you, as you both scramble on the controller in the hope of finding the correct position in time.

Overall Tetsumo Party is a fun little party title offering some hilarious funny moments when played as a group, it’s certainly fun with little ones. However, the game is a little limited and repetitive. Although fun, I’m just not sure how many times you would revisit it, I suppose it depends on the right situation and settings. It’s certainly cheap enough to give it a try.
