I play many fast-paced and hectic games. Therefore, when I get the chance to kick back and relax, I grab it with both hands. Adorable Adventures let me reconnect with nature and enjoy a non-pressurised gaming experience that will appeal to a niche audience. With cute boars, wholesome narration, and sprawling countryside, this is a safe and cosy endeavour for the whole family.
Wild Sheep Studio has developed this animal adventure title. It is a single-player, third-person affair that delivers a heartwarming edge. There are minor puzzles, items to find, scents to sniff out, and a whole host of interesting environments to see. However, at its core, it is an exploration experience where safe gameplay and calm action sit at the fore.

Adorable Adventures tells a tale of sibling love.
We all know that siblings can bicker and fall out at the best of times. However, when their back is against the wall, siblings will support one another. This is the backbone of Adorable Adventures. You play the role of Boris, a young boar who must find his siblings and rescue his mum. This sounds like an easy task, but a devastating forest fire has split up the family. Subsequently, Boris must use his keen sense of smell and unwavering nerve to find his family and rescue their mum.
The tale plays a key part in the progressive elements of the gameplay. As you explore the world, you’ll have to identify new scents and find an array of flowers, mushrooms, and human rubbish before you can find your brothers and sisters. Furthermore, you’ll have to understand and solve basic riddles to get them on board. Once you enrol their help, you can open new pathways with basic stampede power. This opens new areas while helping you to find your siblings.

Simple ideas.
The use of scents and hunting items forms the core idea of Adorable Adventures. This may seem a little basic, but it works wonderfully. As you find each item, you can eliminate it from your field of search. This ensures that you track key elements only while exploring an array of wonderful locations.
Alongside this, there are some nice side missions to undertake. Activities include photography challenges, time trials, park cleanups, and minor lore elements to keep you focused. Each of these can be ignored, but I enjoyed the added challenge and the way it forces you to explore the world. None of these mechanics will test you, but they were interesting, nonetheless.

Adorable Adventures looks fantastic.
Adorable Adventures isn’t without its flaws, sadly. I fell into the world a few times, and there were some textural glitches. However, the environment is a joy to look at, and the animation is smooth and realistic. Each time I became stuck, there was a simple unstuck option in the menu, so this wasn’t too much of an issue. The audio is fantastic! The narration is rich, interesting, and well-timed. The music suits its cosy, wholesome edge. Finally, the ambient sound effects added realism and depth.
The controls were great, and I enjoyed exploring each unique location. With simple jumping and dashing to master, you will not struggle. Moreover, the UI is clean and changing scents was a walk in the park. Sadly, this isn’t long enough. It took me around 2 hours to finish the story, and I invested another 2 hours finding every collectable. Consequently, I wanted much more.
Adorable Adventures is short but sweet.
Although it wasn’t long enough, I loved every minute. Adorable Adventures is a great indie title that will make your heart swell. It is undeniably cute, and the boars were lovely to look at. The world is a joy to experience, and I love the blend of side quests and core elements. Accordingly, I think it’s great, and I recommend grabbing a copy from the Xbox store!
