Independent developer Hit Start Studios has announced that its co-op platformer Brave Escape will officially launch on XBOX Series X|S on 24th July.
The console release will include all major content updates released for the PC version since launch, including 45 additional levels, gameplay improvements, accessibility enhancements, visual upgrades, and expanded bonus content available from day one. The game will also support cross-platform co-op multiplayer between PC, PlayStation 5, and XBOX Series X|S players at launch.
Originally released on PC to a “Very Positive” reception on Steam, Brave Escape challenges two players to work together as Colin and Floyd – an unlikely duo navigating fast-paced hazards, precision platforming sequences, and handcrafted co-op challenges that demand communication, coordination, and split-second timing.
Each player takes control of a unique character, each with their own abilities and role. As players progress through themed regions – including Glacial Falls, Ember Caverns, and Serpent’s Hollow – they must master tools such as the Grapple Hook, Wind Gun, Freeze Gun, Flare Launcher and more. Every environment introduces new challenges designed to encourage collaboration and replayability.
To ensure accessibility for all skill levels, Brave Escape includes both a Brave mode for platforming veterans and a Standard Mode, which introduces more forgiving timing, fewer hazards and a smoother difficulty curve – making it easier for friends and families to enjoy the full adventure together.
“We’ve continued expanding and refining Brave Escape since the original PC launch, and we’re excited that console players will get the full experience right from the start,” said Steve Ciaramitaro, Game Designer at Hit Start Studios. “Cross-platform support was especially important for us because Brave Escape is all about playing together, regardless of platform.”
