Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has received its final major update of Year 2, with the Confrontation Update now available for players on Xbox Series X|S.
Released by Focus Entertainment and Saber Interactive, Patch 14 delivers a range of new free content across the game, including two new PvP maps, a deadly new Thousand Sons enemy, additional Heroic weapons, new armour pieces, and the final Season Pass 2 DLC additions.
The Confrontation Update marks the end of a content-packed second year for Space Marine 2, with the developers confirming that Year 3 content will begin arriving in September.
New PvP Maps and Enemies Arrive in Patch 14
PvP takes centre stage in the latest update, introducing two new arenas for Eternal War battles. Players can now fight across:
- Sanctum – a new battlefield designed for intense multiplayer encounters.
- Facility – another addition to Eternal War, bringing the total number of playable PvP maps to seven.
The update also introduces new weekly PvP rewards and Ordeals, allowing players to earn Accolades and unlock cosmetic rewards by competing in Eternal War matches and completing Datavault challenges.
Alongside the new maps, Chaos forces have gained a powerful new threat with the arrival of the Thousand Sons’ Scarab Occult Terminator Sorcerer. This new Terminus enemy can appear in every Chaos-related Operation as well as during Siege mode waves, providing an additional challenge for Space Marines to overcome.
New Heroic Weapons and Armour Rewards
Patch 14 expands the game’s arsenal with six new Heroic weapon variants, available by spending Accolades earned through gameplay. The new additions include:
- A new Melta Rifle variant
- A new Chainsword
- A Bolt Carbine Combi-Flamer
- A Power Fist equipped with an integrated Meltagun
- A Deathwatch-inspired Stalker Bolt Rifle
- The Executioner’s Axe variant for the Thunder Hammer
Players can also unlock three new Heroic armour pieces, including a new Ultramarines pauldron and two Deathwatch-themed cosmetics featuring a new breastplate and left gauntlet.
Salamanders and Raptors Receive New Cosmetic DLC
The Confrontation Update also brings the final Season Pass 2 content drops, giving fans of the Salamanders and Raptors new ways to customise their Space Marines.
The Salamanders Champion Pack 2 introduces a new Heavy Champion skin alongside a new Multi-Melta weapon skin, allowing players to bring the iconic fire-wielding Chapter into battle.
Meanwhile, the Raptors Cosmetic Pack adds five new armour pieces inspired by the Chapter’s signature stealth-focused combat style.
The Confrontation Update is available now for free on Xbox Series X|S, with Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 preparing to enter its third year of post-launch content when the next wave of updates begins in September.
