Mini-golf is getting a chaotic, backstabbing makeover as indie favourite Golftacular! prepares to make its console debut. Brooklyn-based developers announced today that the local multiplayer party game will launch on Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo platforms on August 27, 2026.
Accompanied by a brand-new trailer, the announcement offers a vibrant look at the title’s colorful character lineup, wild course layouts, and game-changing abilities – all set to a catchy original soundtrack produced by Baba (@babamadethis on X).
Originally launched on PC via Steam in November 2025, Golftacular! quickly captured a dedicated fanbase, maintaining a 94% positive review score. Its trajectory continued upward early this year after being selected as a featured title in the MAGFest 2026 Indie Showcase.
Unlike traditional golf simulators that reward precision and decorum, Golftacular! leans heavily into multiplayer mayhem. Designed for up to four players on the couch, the game actively encourages playing dirty. Matches evolve into hilarious free-for-alls where taking your turn involves not just chipping shots, but dropping missiles on opponents’ paths and teleporting rival balls into hazards to steal a win.
For those looking to play solo, the console release includes content designed for single-player mastery. Players can tackle a dedicated puzzle mode or embark on solo tours, both crafted to test and hone player skill with the game’s quirky mechanics and power-ups.
Console gamers can join the fray when Golftacular! hits digital storefronts on August 27.
