Developer Panpipe Studio has officially announced that its upcoming colour-driven puzzle-platformer, Colorbound, will launch on October 12th, 2026. The game will be available across PC (via Steam, Epic Games Store, and Humble Store), Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and both Nintendo Switch 1 and 2.
In Colorbound, players step into the shoes of Anku, a young Aymara boy gifted with the ability to reshape his surroundings using a canvas of living pigments. Driven by a deep personal mission, Anku sets out across a vibrant, changing world to reunite his late grandfather’s music band for one final tribute performance.
At its core, the game blends logical problem-solving with light platforming mechanics built around dynamic color physics. By collecting pigments onto a portable palette, players can alter the physical properties of environmental objects to navigate obstacles:
-
Weight & Gravity Mechanics: Different colors apply unique physical attributes. Lighter pigments cause painted objects to float into the air, while heavier colors increase mass, causing targeted elements to sink or drop.
-
Diverse Environments: Anku’s journey spans a variety of distinct biomes, ranging from lush natural forests to ancient, overgrown cities.
-
Cultural Homage: Drawing directly from the Chilean heritage of Panpipe Studio and the traditional culture of the Andean Aymara people, the game features a South American-inspired art direction and a native-instrument soundtrack.
Beyond its puzzle mechanics, Colorbound aims to deliver a universal narrative centered on grief, family legacy, and the unifying power of artistic expression.
Colorbound arrives digitally on October 12, 2026.
