Publisher rokaplay and developer Mipumi Games have officially announced that A Game About Digging A Hole Together will launch on December 4, 2026, following a surprise reveal at the ID@Xbox IGN Showcase.

Best of all for console and PC subscribers? The addictive co-op adventure will be available directly on Xbox Game Pass on day one.

More Depth, More Terrain, More Friends

If the title sounds familiar, that’s because it’s the evolution of a massive indie phenomenon. What started as a quick, solo side-project quickly snowballed into a viral hit, cracking the top 30 on Steam and selling over a million copies.

Now, the newly expanded cooperative experience lets up to four players delve deep into their upgraded backyard to find out the ultimate question: What awaits at the very bottom?

Retaining the simple, addictive core loop of dig, sell, upgrade, and keep digging, the newly minted Together edition promises everything fans loved about the original, cranked up to eleven:

  • True Co-op: Bring your own friends for online, cross-platform cooperative excavation

  • A Complete Code Rebuild: Mipumi Games—the Vienna-based studio behind heavy-hitting AAA titles like Alan Wake 2, Control, Hitman, and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle – has rebuilt the entire codebase from the ground up for smooth, reliable performance.

  • Solarpunk Roots: Utilising advanced voxel and digging technologies originally cooked up for the upcoming survival crafting title Solarpunk, the terrain deformation has never felt better.

  • Community-Driven Content: Every piece of feedback, review, and request from over a million players has been directly injected into this new release.
