Players on these latest consoles can take advantage of lightning-quick load times, improved world and shadow detail, and a responsive 60 frames-per-second presentation at up to 4K resolution. For those who have mastered State of Decay 2’s challenges, The State of Decay team are bringing a new one just in time for your holiday break: Lethal Difficulty. This difficulty is a brutal new way to play that we’ve tuned right to the edge of impossible. Open-world resources are scarce, meaning that survival has to be earned instead of discovered. Enemies now hit harder, and blood plague is even deadlier. Plague hearts grow like weeds, and destroying one no longer guarantees safety from the hordes around it. And on top of all of that, the special “freak” zombies have been swapped out for their amped-up blood plague variants.
Lethal Difficulty represents the ultimate test of survival skill, with corresponding new achievements worth a total of 100 additional Gamerscore. Lethal aspects can also be mixed and matched with Custom Difficulty, so every player can fine-tune their ideal apocalypse. Looking for Lethal enemies with a Standard abundance of resources? State of Decay 2 has got you covered. Would you prefer tranquil Green pastures with a Lethal case of the community blues? That’s available too.
And finally, just in time for the winter months we have the Stay Frosty Pack, which adds over a dozen themed items that can be earned through in-game challenges or discovered in the open world. Equip your survivors for the season with winter-camouflage weapons and outfits and use the new Maintenance Bench facility mod to minimize weapon breakage while in the field.
