EA has confirmed that Star Wars Battlefront will be receiving a beta for Xbox One in “early October”.

The beta will give players the chance to get to grips with Battlefront’s 40-player Walker Assault mode on Hoth.

You’ll also be able to play as Hero characters Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker, as you accumulate the Hero unlock.

Additionally, players will be able to check out the Survival Missions on Tatooine, where you must play as Rebels and push back the Imperial Forces.

An unannounced mode called Drop Zone will feature too, with an official announcement due on this in the weeks ahead.

If you’re wondering if any of this progression will carry forward into the full game: the answer is no.

There was no mention of sign-ups or a pre-order deal to get access, so at the moment this looks like an open beta.
